Help protect and preserve California Rivers and have fun doing it!
Love rivers? Us too — and we’d love your help! Whether on the water, in the Capitol, or behind the scenes, volunteers play a key role in protecting rivers and growing our community of river advocates. Our volunteers advocate, educate, and help lead river adventures — and there’s a place for everyone to get involved.
When you join, you become part of a powerful community standing up for California’s rivers and the clean, affordable water we all depend on. Your voice helps protect healthy ecosystems and build a climate-resilient future for people and nature alike
Join us to learn new skills, build community, and make a real difference for the waterways you love.

Volunteer River Guide
Our volunteer River Guide team create powerful, hands-on experiences that connect people directly to California’s rivers. Through guided trips and shared learning, they help build the understanding and passion needed to protect rivers for the future.

Volunteer Support Crew
Support Crew volunteers are the backbone of our work, helping with events, office projects, outreach, logistics, and river trips that don’t involve guiding or on-the-water activities. From organizing materials and supporting staff to pitching in wherever help is needed, Support Crew members make our programs and campaigns possible. We need your skills and talents—whether you’re great at organizing, communicating, driving, or problem-solving. Apply today and let us know how you’d like to help support healthy rivers and resilient communities.
