One Water Network (OWN)

The mission of the Network is to achieve a resilient and sustainable water future for California by prioritizing solutions that elevate and connect human and environmental rights to water.

In the Fall of 2018, the One Water Network grew out of an effort to develop recommendations on water policy for the incoming Newsom administration. This Water Agenda now enjoys more than 100 signatories from across the state. When the group met for the second time in February 2019, momentum grew strong enough to formalize the group to advance our Water Agenda by building a more powerful water movement.

The group formed a network and its first coordinated effort was providing input to the Water Resilience Portfolio (WRP), set forth by gubernatorial executive order in April 2019. The Network met throughout the spring and summer to develop and submit several substantive recommendations to advance a climate resilient water future for California.

Currently, the Network meets on the first Wednesday of every month—via Zoom—to learn from speakers and offer updates on our work and request support on actions.
