Gear Swap

Sellers arrive with their gear between 7:30am – 8:30am. They will be directed to a “booth” where they can set up their gear. Price tags will be provided for items. The event will begin at 9:00am. Sellers must remain present at the event to accept purchases. (We recommend bringing a chair to set up by your gear.) 

Please be prepared to accommodate cash, check, venmo, paypal, and/or other popular transaction methods. Transactions will occur directly between sellers and buyers (FOR will not mediate transactions). There will be a 10% recommended donation to Friends of the River. Larger donations are greatly appreciated! Some sellers may elect to donate up to 100% of the profits to FOR. 

*All gear must be taken by the end of the day. Unsold items must be taken home.  

Light snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. 

What kind of gear is accepted? 

This event is for RIVER/PADDLE GEAR ONLY. Any raft, kayak, IK, SUP gear is welcome. Boats/gear should be in good, usable shape. Here are some examples of relevant gear: 

• • • Boats (rafts, cats, etc.) 
    • Kayaks (including IKs, packrafts, sea kayaks, etc.) 
    • Stand up paddle boards 
    • Boat gear 
    • Paddles, oars, frames, rigging materials, straps, dry boxes/bags, etc. 
    • Personal gear 
    • PFDs, helmets, hardware,  
    • River clothing 
    • Dry suits, wet suits, splash gear, booties, etc.

Housekeeping: 

• • • FOR does not attest to, nor is responsible for, the quality/condition/safety of gear sold at the gear swap 
    • Unsold items may NOT be left at Camp Lotus after the gear swap 
    • FOR is not currently accepting gear donations. If you believe you have specific gear that FOR might be interested in, or in need of, please email spencer@friendsoftheriver.org 
    • Sellers arriving after 8:30am are not guaranteed a spot
