Do you love wild rivers? Help FOR save even more. From April
30 to May 21, we’re sponsoring a Wild River Photo Contest, you can check out the entries on our Facebook page. Enter one
photo in each of the five categories: 1) Wildlife (Flora & Fauna), 2)
Scenic Shots 3) Whitewater Action, 4) Flat Water (urban and valley river segments) and 5)
People Enjoying Rivers everywhere!
Enter your photos online by posting them on the FOR Facebook page or emailing them to us (see How to Submit a Photo below). Write 2013 Photo Contest
Entry and the specific name of the category that your photo is being entered
in. And don’t forget a caption! We’d love to know the name of the river and the
location of the photo.
Your photo contributions will be used in future FOR
campaigns, and winners will receive an award certificate and a prize. Photos
that garner the most likes will win a special People’s Choice award. Be sure to checkout our the entries on our Facebook

| Contest Rules and Categories
of the River (FOR) fans can enter only
one photo in each of the
following five categories:
Wildlife (Flora & Fauna)
- Scenic Shots
- Whitewater Action
- Flat Water (Class I, II, urban, or valley rivers segments)
- People Enjoying Rivers
each category, there will be a People’s Choice award, and a first, second and
third place photo. FOR staff will choose the winning photos based on quality and appropriateness, but photos that
garner the most “likes” will win the People’s Choice award for each category. First Place winners
will receive an award certificate and a prize from an FOR sponsor. All winners will receive an award certificate.

include the Smith River, Klamath River, McCloud River, Trinity
River, Middle Fork Eel, Feather River, Black Butte River, Sespe Creek, Upper
Sacramento, American River (North Fork), American River (South Fork), Cache
Creek, Tuolumne River, Merced River, San Joaquin River Gorge, Kings River, Kaweah
River, Middle Fork Kern River, Sisquoc River and Amargosa River.

page. People in the photos must be demonstrating good stewardship of the river
and be behaving in a manner consistent with the laws and rules. Inappropriate
photos will be deleted, as deemed necessary. We will start accepting
submissions on April 30 at 8:00 a.m. PST, and the contest will run for three

photo entry received as part of the contest becomes the property of FOR and
FOR’s coalition partners. We will provide photo credit as often as possible. FOR
will have non-exclusive, unlimited use of the photos. Use of these photos shall
include, but is not limited to, audiovisual programs, exhibits, web sites,
publications, news releases, public service announcements, conservation
campaigns, internal communication, blog posts and product artwork.
Additionally, you waive the right to inspect or approve any use of the material
and any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use
of the material by FOR. However, you still own the photo to use however you see
fit and are entitled to royalties and compensation arising from your personal
use of the photo.

| How to Submit a Photo
There are two
ways to enter. Send your photo to email@example.com, or post your photo
on the Friends of the River Facebook wall. Please note: we need your e-mail
address to notify if you’ve won. Include 2013 Photo Contest Entry and the
specific name of the category that your photo is being entered in. In addition,
you must provide the name of the river, a title and/or caption, and the
location of the photo. Any photo that does not say 2013 Photo Contest Entry
will not be considered. The 2013 Photo Contest Entry tells us that you have
read and understand these contest rules, intend to have your photo be part of
the contest, and understand that every photo entry that FOR receives as part of
the contest becomes the FOR property and that FOR has non-exclusive, unlimited
use of the photo.

| What if you Win!
We will notify you via e-mail. Winners must provide a mailing address to receive prizes and certificates; international entries will not be considered. Participants must be living in the United States. Prizes will be awarded for only first place entries. If additional prizes are available from our sponsors, FOR will award second and third place winners prizes. All winners will receive an award certificate, if a mailing address is provided.
| How You Can Vote for the People's Choice
Facebook managers will set up a Facebook Photo Contest Album for the contest
and you can “like” as many photos as you want. The photos in the People’s
Choice category will be selected based upon quality, appropriateness of the
photo, and number of likes. We will notify our fans when the photo album is
available for voting.
