I was inspired to apply to the River RATS fellowship because I want to learn more about protecting water resources and help ensure the future health of rivers for the benefit of animals, ecology, and people. I hope to gain the tools to confidentially speak up for rivers and to create connections to other people looking to make a ripple of change in the water industry. I have a background working with water, both in the states and abroad. I worked on water quality projects in India and Uganda, and did my master’s degree in Israel on wastewater treatment and reuse. I love exchanging information and learning from other people, so I’m excited to get started in the FOR River RATS program.
