I’ve been exploring and enjoying Sierra rivers since earning my Boy Scout mile swim merit badge in the Tuolumne River, but was blissfully unaware of the threats posed to our rivers by unnecessary and short-sighted dam projects. I learned of those threats during a Friends of the River clean-up on the American River. I recently retired from my dream job as Director of Operations at Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, CA. I look forward to continue promoting and protecting California’s natural resources as an advocate for Friends of the River and white water rafting guide. I can share my favorite spots and educate rafters on the need to keep our wild and scenic rivers flowing.
